The online programs that I recommend below are programs that I've personally been paid by (see payment proof shown), have researched and found positive member feedback, or personally know someone who's been paid by the program.

WHAT ARE THEY?
WHY WOULD THEY PAY ME?
There are many types of online pay programs on the web. My blog focuses on four of them, those that I've found to be the most reliable and best paying programs.
1) Pay to Click (PTC) - Online advertisers pay you to logon to a Pay to Click website and click on banner ads and view the ad for 15 to 60 seconds. This is a form of advertising much like TV ads or all of the banner ads you see whenever you visit a website. However in this case, you're getting paid to view them! How easy is that?
2) Pay to Read (PTR) - Just like a Pay To Click but instead of logging onto a site, you actually receive e-mails from the Pay to Read company which will include a link that you click on to view the advertisement
3) Online Surveys - This is pretty self explanatory. Marketing Research companies are always looking for new members to provide their input and opinion on services or products, and they'll pay you to receive an e-mail, click on the survey link, and complete the survey. Surveys can take you as little as 5 minutes or as much as 60 minutes or more. Compensation is typically based on the survey length. Most surveys are online where you answer the questions at your own pace, although some are telephone surveys (only with your permission), or online interactive (chat) surveys which I've found to be really interesting and compensation is great for those. In addition to getting paid for taking surveys, you often will receive free product to try and evaluate later in a survey. One note, once you register with a survey program, you may receive many invitations to take a survey, but you will not qualify for all surveys, although they usually let you know you didn't qualify within the first few minutes so that you haven't wasted your time.

HOW AM I PAID BY THESE PROGRAMS?
1) Check - Mailed to your home. The programs that use check as a payment method are mostly survey programs.
2) Paypal - If you're not familiar with Paypal, they're an online payment service which provides a very secure way to send and receive money. They've been around for a while and are comparable to an American Express in the credit card industry. When you've got available funds in your Paypal account you can withdraw the funds in one of three ways. You can use the available funds to purchase merchandise on e-Bay or any other retailer that offers Paypal as a payment method. You can withdraw your money via check or a transfer to your bank account. You can also get a Paypal debit card (free of charge) and transfer money from your account to your card and then use the card like any debit card at any store that accepts debit cards. Some online pay programs require you to have a verified Paypal account in order to be paid through Paypal. To be verified with Paypal, you'll need to register a credit card with them. There is no cost to setup a Paypal account or to become verified. I recommend selecting the Personal Account with Paypal as it has the cheapest fees and is perfect for simply receiving funds and transfering them to your bank account. 3) AlertPay - AlertPay is very much like Paypal, but somewhat newer to the scene. They're a very secure way to send and receive money. Where Paypal focuses primarily on the U.S., AlertPay is more of a worldwide service. You can transfer funds from your AlertPay account to your bank account just like with Paypal. I recommend selecting the Personal Starter Account with AlertPay for the same reasons. To setup an AlertPay account, see the Tips section below.
4) Gift Cards (almost as good as cash in my opinion) - A very small portion of online pay programs pays with gift cards. Those that do usually have a wide selection of merchants to choose from such as Starbucks, major department stores, Amazon, etc.

This is because they really are legit and comply with IRS regulations. In their case, if you earn more than $600 in a year, they want to be able to report your income to the government and when doing so will also send you a 1099 form reflecting your earnings for the year. The site where you submit this information is very secure (SSL encryption) according to their response when I asked them about the security of my personal information.

Building a referral base really comes down to doing a little free internet marketing and it's not rocket science. Suffice it to say, a referral base can triple your income for very little work. TIPS BEFORE YOU GET STARTED
1) Setup an e-mail account just for these programs - You will get some spam, so I don't advise using your primary e-mail account. There are many free e-mail services out there. I use Yahoo.
2) Download Roboform and simplify your life - I highly recommend this especially if you sign up for more than a few programs and even more so if you plan to sign up for survey programs. Roboform offers a free 30 day trial of their software. Roboform does many things, but as it relates to helping you with online pay programs, it helps you in two primary ways. One is that it remembers all of your logon info for each site you need to logon to. When you open that site in your web browser, it will show a button which you click and it will automatically populate the user name and password and submit it, allowing you to logon with one click. This saves you not only time but brains cells :) The second benefit is that it will automatically populate regularly used fields like name, address, phone, e-mail address, etc. This helps when registering for a new program, and especially helps when filling out this information in a survey. With one click, all the fields are filled for you. You don't have to worry about someone getting access to the information stored in Roboform should your PC be lost or stolen as Roboform has a master password which has to be entered after rebooting or after a few hours of inactivity. 3) Setup your online payment accounts - As discussed already, you'll need online payment accounts in order to be paid by most programs. To setup a free account with Paypal or AlertPay, just click on the banners below. VERY IMPORTANT! - When you sign up, for security reasons be sure to use a totally unique password for these sites, one you do NOT use on ANY other website.
4) Mozilla Firefox - If you do not currently have Mozilla Firefox loaded on your computer as your internet browswer, I highly recommend that you download it. It is free software and many online pay programs do not work well in Internet Explorer but do just fine in Firefox. It will also reduce the time it takes you to work your PTC's each day by 50%. Instead of opening multiple windows like with Internet Explorer, it will open multiple tabs which are easier to close since they're all on one page, thus saving you a lot of time. This also allows you to work all your PTC's at one time, rather than one at a time which is a huge time saver.
5) Try to use the same user name and password - Where possible when signing up for new programs, try to use a common user name and password as it makes it much easier to remember. Unless of course you've chosen to download Roboform and then you don't have to worry about this as Roboform takes care of it for you.
